On September 21, 1966, the fifth child and fourth son of Rev Dr. Irvin and Marion Clarke was born in Nassau prematurely; and given the name Lynden Basil.
Because of his fragile physical condition at the time, there was uncertainty of his survival. But God in his infinite mercy spared his life.
During the Exuma District Union of churches annual crusade held at St. John’s Georgetown in March 1988, Lynden gave his life to Christ and was baptized and joined the Mt. Sinai Union Baptist Church.
At Mt. Sinai he served as youth leader, Sunday school teacher and Superintendent, Bible study teacher, new converts counselor, worship leader and financial committee chairman.
On January 13, 2003 he was ordain as a minister by Rev. Dr. Charles Saunders.On November 18 2008, he was asked by Palestine Union Baptist Church to serve as pastor and on January 19, 2009 he accepted the call to lead the congregation. As a result he was inducted and ordain as pastor by Rev. Dr. Charles Saunders on August 30, 2009.Lynden is blessed with parents who are still alive. He counts it as an honor to call his Dad Rev. Dr. Irvin Clarke his mentor.
Lynden is married to Carlis Clarke and they are blessed with three children Jonathan, Jeremy and Chelsea.
